Neuro

The situation

Neuro is a Solana trading bot. When I started there were no community channels at all, which is an unusual position for a crypto product, because the community is normally the distribution.

Starting from zero has one advantage. There is no legacy audience to protect, so you can pick the channels that suit the product instead of maintaining the ones somebody opened two years ago.

What I did

• Opened and ran X, Medium and Telegram as three channels with three jobs. X for reach, Medium for the explanations that are too long for a post, Telegram for the people who actually use the thing.
• Onboarded the first 150+ users personally, which at that stage is support work as much as marketing.
• Ran content and campaigns against engagement per post. At this size follower count says almost nothing.

What changed

Posts reached 6,000+ engagements within six months of the channels going live, from a standing start.

The 150+ onboarded users is the number I would put more weight on. It is small, and it involved talking to individual people about what the product did and did not do for them.

What I would do differently

I ran the three channels as three channels. In hindsight Telegram was doing the work and the other two were feeding it, and I did not instrument that relationship. I could describe the funnel but I could not measure it.

I built exactly this at ARC a few months later: tag the outbound links, resolve them to a source, and you can tell which channel brings people who stay. I would do that on day one now, while the volumes are small enough to read.
